The Country Gardener specialises in residential garden construction, design and maintenance in Garstang and surrounding areas. A personal, professional and quality service tailored to meet individual needs and gardening styles.

All work is carried out by Royal Horticultural Society qualified staff under the personal supervision of the director and owner of the business, David Nichols.

History  

In October 1999, after 30 years working for Norwich Union and Royal & Sun Alliance, David decided it was time to hang up his suit and pull on the overalls. Take-overs, mergers and restructuring in the insurance industry together with commuting to Manchester spurred him to Myerscough College where he obtained the Royal Horticultural Society General Certificate in Horticulture and studied part time courses in Garden Design and Landscaping.

The business has now grown into a registered limited company managed by David the sole director and supported by his wife Bette and son Jonathan. The team includes 2 full time Landscape Gardeners David and Paul, Garden Designer Claire and with work placement Landscaping students from Myerscough College. And not to forget Honey, the Glen of Imall Terrier
